BOREDOME 2

I woke up at 10 am in the morning, with no one around me, alone again. My room mate just left and went to his hometown again. His wife is at work. That guy keeps on flying. I explored the fridge and found nothing but junk food...and a giant KISSES from Japan. I hope that didn’t bring any radioactive gasses.

giant kisses while Tumblring

It was so boring that made me do "cleaning the room". (totally not me). Well, sounds impossible but I did clean the room. I was about to wash my clothes but I decided to let the laundry people do their jobs and earn. So heroic of me. :)

the ukay ukay shirt for today!

4pm. Someone called my name. Yes! It’s her. A new one? We went to the mall. We ate donuts. Laughed. Had fun. We came back home. She slept. I blogged.

ILOCOS S/N

One of the most exciting trips that I had was the trip to Ilocos, Philippines. This place is blessed with nature, history, friendly people and culture. Before the trip began, I overused the word “excited”. Every time I thought or talked about this trip to my friends, I always said “I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it” in a childish manner.  I was so excited about it because I thought the spots in the region were truly exciting- the windmills, Vigan heritage village, Pagudpod beach, the Patapat via duct, sand dune, some old historical churches, and more more more.

This place also inspired to take good photos because the sceneries were amazing (though I was just using my cheap, old Brica camera).
I recommend photographers to visit this place. I bet you’ll get good photos out of this place. There are the photos that I took out of this place.

We took a trike (tricycle) on our way to La Paz sand dunes.  (probably the smallest trike that I’ve seen so far)
This photo was taken in La Paz, Laoag. Many Filipino movies were shot here. It is a desert-like place. You’ll be amazed of its vastness.   You can climb on the top of the sandy hill and enjoy the view of the South China Sea with its big waves. The golden grasses makes this place looks warm. (This is my friend Ghie . She is taking a photo of the amazing view with the Canon SLR)
We climbed on to the sandy hill and enjoyed the breathtaking view of the sand dune and the south china sea while the trike drivers were talking about the movies the were shot in this place. We were enjoying the view. We felt like we were on a different country though the heat of the scorching tropical sun heat was burning our skin.
another breathtaking view from La Paz
Katrina doing a converstion with the trike drivers.
We never thought trikes could pass along this bridge. We thought that the trike drivers will make stop but, no! They fearlessly moved on with the fight. Hahaha I was kind of nervous the bridge was too old. I could collapse anytime.
BOJEADOR LIGHTHOUSE- this lighthouse was built by the Spaniards hundreds of years ago. It is a perfect place for a lighthouse because it is seated right on top of mountain where you could view the vastness of the sea.  The view from this place will simply take your breath away.
The sea water crashes on to the rocky edge of the earth.
BANGUI WINDMILL- a genius idea by a government official in Ilocos.  The wind mercilessly clashes your face with bits of sand trying to get in your skin pores. The sea mist dragged by the wind sends shivers to your spines.
That giant propeller, simply an impressive engineering.
This is Paoay Church. This church was built in the 1500's. This is one of the popular churches in the Philippines. I have this seen this church before in pictures and I didnt see something special about it. But when i got in the 'real' church, I was amazed by its size and texture. It was so grand. Get closer to its walls and you'll realize that the spaniards used corals in building this amazing structure.
The sinking bell tower in Vigan City. You can get in this tower and climb up to where the bells are. Unfortunately, I have a serious case of altophobia. I just stayed up to the second floor while my friends were enjoying the view from the bell tower.
Looks like a cake?
This is Calle Crisologo. I don't know who Crisolo is and I didnt dare to ask. I just felt like I was in a different country., like somewhere in Europe. The building are european-inspired.
The walls in this street were originally made of bricks but they patched it with cement to keep it standing still .

This is Calle Crisologo at midnight. People were sleeping. It was so silent yet the lights were still vibrant and burning. I didnt use a tripod when I took this photo instead I placed it on a bench and set the camera to 2 second shutter speed.
Of all the photos that i took, this one is my favorite.
The is the PATAPAT via duct. We were about to step out of the bus to take photos of this amazing bridge but unfortunately, it was raining hard. We werent able to take photos. Such a disappointment! Anyway, we went our way on going to Paguspod beach. Another 'unfortunately', we werent able to go to the beach because it was raining hard and it is getting dark. We also lack the time.
At least i have a good reason to com back to this place.

And, of all the places that i went, ILOCOS is one of hte bests. For sure ill come back here.
